这就是“描述主语”问题！

雅思小作文的描述中，有很多种方法来写出一个正确的句子，我们来看看下面的正确示范：

During this 25-year period the consumption of beef and lamb fell dramatically to approximately 100 grams and 55 grams respectively. Chicken, on the other hand, was eaten with increasing quantities, rising to almost 250 grams per person per week.

National and international fixed line calls grew steadily from 38 billion to 61 billion at the end of the period in question. Similarly, there was a dramatic increase in the usage of mobile from 2 billion to 46 billion minutes.

所以各位同学不要只顾着自己的“上升”、“下降”的句型正确与否，描述主体的正确性也非常重要！

如何找到描述主体？

当审题的时候，一定要认真查看这个图表的描述主体，或者说，它在测量什么？ 这个在图表的标题里是一定能够找到蛛丝马迹的。

图一测量的并不是各种肉类，而是它们的消费量！

图二测量的并不是固定电话或手机，而是它们的通话（时长）

在图片中用红框画出来的单词，便是描述主体的核心词，一定要揉进句子描述之中（通常是揉进主语里面）。

描述主体的错误，会严重影响大家的“对任务的回应”的评分，需要大家千万注意！

练习

下面是一些“描述主体”的练习。这些描述的句子都存在主体错误，在句子后面的括号里会给出一个提示词，以便大家改正该句（你也可能需要添加一些其他信息，例如“the number of”，或者改变提示词的词性）。

注：雅思小作文的描述中，正确句子的表达方法不止一种，不要拘泥于练习后面的参考答案。

1. Cinema increased from 2000 to 2005. (attendance)

2. Saudi Arabia fell significantly to 270 million barrels a year. (oil production).

3. 2000 to 2010 saw DVDs drop from 70% to 60%. (purchased).

4.From 1975 to 2000, hamburgers increased dramatically from 10 to 100 times per year. At the same time, fish and chips fell significantly to just under 40. (consumption)

 5.While buses fell from just over 25% to around 16% in 2000, cars increased dramatically to over 35%. Meanwhile, bikes fell over this time frame. (use / usage)
